Chartbeat? Oh cool...No lame, it costs

First off this form is broken for me (firefox 3.0.8 w/ abp) because the overlay text won't go away.

Listen, I understand that users who sign up for a free site are generally viewed to not like changes in which a subscription is introduced. But really? $9.99 is not a price I'm willing to pay for ... more

Hi, we have a 30 day free trial so that people can explore chartbeat for free. I understand if you feel $9.95 is too much for you to pay; however sites like Pingdom charge that much for simple uptime monitoring, which is only one of the features that chartbeat offers. I hope over time we can change your mind.

  1. I agree. $9.95 is well worth it. Chartbeat is the best real-time monitor there is.

  2. I've got a small site that rately has more than a dozen users at a time. For me, ChartBeat is addicting and a lot of fun. But $10 for such a small site is way too expensive. I'd suggest an entery-level price of either free or $1-2/month for small sites.

Clicky is a lower cost alternative. I was tempted by the interesting charts, and heat map. And an app I'm developing could really benefit from better real time analytics. But my server costs $7/month for 4 blogs, unlimited storage, and bandwidth. $10/analytics seems a bit steep.

  4. Totally disagree with original commenter. $9.95 for up to 5 sites is well worth it. Glad it doesn't cost more, but for what it's worth I'd probably pay up to $14.95 for up to 5. Great job with the service, love watching the flow of my site traffic.

  5. $10 is well worth it. Chartbeat is awesome!

  6. I think the service is priced right. It's really too bad that people expect everything online to be free. Companies have to pay salaries, hosting costs, etc. Not everything can be supported through online advertising like Google.

  7. Really!? I thought $10 is a steal. Pulling off real time stats like this is not easy. I keep looking for the catch thinking it was too good to be true.
