Make it possible to run the dashboard in background
I'm running the dashboard within a fluid app (http://fluidapp.com) to always have an eye on the website. Unfortunately you instantly pause it when i unfocus the fluid app window. Probably it would be possible to timeout this pause function and only pause after 5 minutes without focus or so.
Hi, the issue with this is that it means the bandwidth required to run this all the time makes it very expensive and we’d have to raise our prices. At the moment the pause is the best way of keeping our prices down.
We are looking at other ways that we could offer this as a premium service if enough people want it

Whether or not you are planning to charge additional Sums for the service, as a subscriber I and an owner of companies that use this service and maintain professional engineers and technical officers the bottom line and fact of the matter is that the Android Platform is gaining significant responds from business professionals and consumers. With the introduction of the Andriod Pads as well, I believe that support for these platforms is going to end up becoming a necessity; however, I would at least start and request that you guys first release an iPad version that would greatly benefit from the additional real estate the iPad offers. I have been using the iPhone version on my iPad, hoping for such a release. However, going back to the point, and as an Andriod phone user, Chartbeat needs to work on releasing versions for all dominant mobile platforms, since most of us using the service are never in one place at one time or walk around with a running laptop in hand. At least in my humble opinion of course. Great service though guys!!!

I found a way, launch chartbeat in a virtual machine then it will always be in the front while you still can put the virtual machine in the background :)
works pretty good.
And if you don't use virtual machines, you should! Your a webmaster - how do you test the old browsers?

Probably possible by modifying the page with some userscript, using greasemonkey or similar.

I would really like to at least see the timer increased... I don't see much point in paying for real-time analytics if I can't - well, use them realtime... I'm a dual-monitor user and the inability to go through email or twitter while keeping an eye on my stats makes this pretty useless. I can get time-delayed analytics anywhere for cheaper...

Wouldn't pausing after 5 minutes accomplish this? Or even 1 minute. Or give us 30 minutes every day without a pause? I'm switching between CB and my site to make changes based on what I'm seeing in the reports, but CB keep pausing. It's very irritating. How about a 1 minute timeout, and maybe charge for a pro version with a longer timeout, or no timeout. It defeats the purpose of using CB to improve my sites. But I also don't want to pay any more $$$! :-)
