Make it possible to run the dashboard in background
I'm running the dashboard within a fluid app (http://fluidapp.com) to always have an eye on the website. Unfortunately you instantly pause it when i unfocus the fluid app window. Probably it would be possible to timeout this pause function and only pause after 5 minutes without focus or so.
Status: under reviewHi, the issue with this is that it means the bandwidth required to run this all the time makes it very expensive and we'd have to raise our prices. At the moment the pause is the best way of keeping our prices down.
We are looking at other ways that we could offer this as a premium service if enough people want it

Show the timezone on the historical data
The "Today" section has what appears to be an arbitrary time scale and start/stop. It would be best if I could set that, but at least please tell me what the timezone is.
Status: plannedHi, this is a really good point, we're redesigning the widgets and this should certainly happen then.

Ability to get alerts when new pages enter the Page Density section
If a given page passes, say the top 50 (or perhaps a configurable rank) of the page density list, it'd be nice to be able to get alerted. This way when can know right away when any page starts blowing up. It would need to track which pages it has sent alerts for so as to only send the alert if th... more
Status: plannedMaking the alerts more intelligent is one of the key things we want to get done in the new year, as well as improving the page density map itself. Thanks for the feedback!

A feed or such that all mobile phones can hit to see performance and active references/etc.
As above. Give me a mobile way to access my chart beat information.
Status: startedThere is a chartbeat iphone app available for free from the app store and plans are underway for us to support other phones too!

Enable Gzip
Turn on gzip compression so the http://static.chartbeat.com/js/chartbeat.js file is served compressed. This will help with everyones page load time and ySlow score.
Status: under reviewChartbeat's JS is asynchronous so it doesn't start until page load has completed. Thus it shouldn't have any effect on page load.
Not all browsers can accept gzip, so the server has to be smart and decide. Amazon's Cloudfront CDN doesn't support gzip. Since the file's pretty small, and Cloudfront's speed and efficiency at serving the file outweighs sending the larger file back, we've gone this route. Not sure why GA doesn't, they're in a much better position to. :)

Have an iPad version with all the display and data of desktop version
Status: plannedYeah, we could most certainly do with a proper iPad version. We know.
For now though, you can browse our normal site through the browser. It works fairly well on an iPad actually.
