Use a print stylesheet on your receipt pages

I imagine the most popular use case for your receipt page is for people to print them out, but currently they look really terrible when you do.

    Desktop Application

    Hello chatbeat,

I believe a Desktop Application would be great.
At least a FireFox add-on would do the job. It will save us lot's of time and always keep us updated.

    HTML Validator

The code that we need to insert on the html is invalid..... :(

The errors and warnings are generated by a SGML Parser, the same parser used by the W3C validator.

Error: general entity "domain" not defined and no default entity

Error: reference to entity "domain" for which ... more

If you could send us an email to support@chartbeat.com with your specific username and domain, then we'll do our best to sort everything out for you!

Alert Replay should play up to the Alerted Event

When I replay alerts, the timeline should stop at the moment the alert occurred, so the data can be examined at that point and make adjustments.

make an option to ignore 401 errors

We've got a staging site that serves 401s, which is an exact copy of all code on production, including the chartbeat code. At 2 am this morning the chartbeat iPhone app started making a racket, informing me every couple minutes that my site is "down". Needless to say I didn't really app... more

For social sites it would be great to track user communication

    Create a superuser-dashboard

I'm monitoring a couple of busy sites and I find it annoying having to switch back and forth between views.

I would like to be able to combine elements in a dashboard that give me a better overview of the sites (number of visitors, load times etc).

report on bitly links to my site in twitter

chartbeat pulls stats in twitter when it finds my url has been tweeted, but now that i'm bitly-ing my site urls for twitter, it would be nice to find bitly urls which point to my site as well.

    Enable Gzip

Turn on gzip compression so the http://static.chartbeat.com/js/chartbeat.js file is served compressed. This will help with everyones page load time and ySlow score.

    Status: under review

Chartbeat's JS is asynchronous so it doesn't start until page load has completed. Thus it shouldn't have any effect on page load.

Not all browsers can accept gzip, so the server has to be smart and decide. Amazon's Cloudfront CDN doesn't support gzip. Since the file's pretty small, and Cloudfront's speed and efficiency at serving the file outweighs sending the larger file back, we've gone this route. Not sure why GA doesn't, they're in a much better position to. :)

    Add support for custom fields

I'd like to be able to capture the user name of our users and see them in Chartbeat. This would allow me to, for example, see a list of top users.

I'd be happy to do a bit of Javascript on the client to add such custom data.

ignore variables in the URL in the page density view. They're being treated as individual urls.

When you look at Page Density, you'll see 30 different blocks with the same name, just all different urls due to the variables attached to the end of a URL.

For example: www.website.com and www.website.com?utm_source=google are treated as two different pages even though they both land on www.website.com

Chartbeat broken on Firefox 3.6 for Mac?

Chartbeat is breaking for me as soon as I have a site visitor. I am using Firefox 3.6.3 for Mac OS X 10.6.3. The site works fine, updating, until a visitor shows up. At which point I get this error in the Error Console:

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "An invalid or illegal string ... more

Show page title as well as URL on mouseover

Our page titles are long and similar in the beginning. On mouseover it shows the URL but would be nice to have the page title show in the popout as well. Thanks

Allow reporting of average load time by page.

I'd like to be able to look at a list of pages and see their avg load times which would help find bottlenecks in our site.
