completed  ·  HeewaAdminHeewa (Admin, chartbeat) responded

In the current version of chartbeat, “direct” means the visitor came to a page without a referrer. “Internal” is a visitor that came to a page with a referrer from the same site. If you’d like to see it in a dashboard, pivoting on a page will show you where they came from, even if it’s from your site. In the API they’re called “internal” and “direct”.
