We have to be careful over releasing Personally Identifiable Information, so that we aren’t infringing on anyone’s rights. However, we are looking at a few creative ways to bring you much more information about the demographic profile of your visitors. Stay tuned.

In the current version of chartbeat, “direct” means the visitor came to a page without a referrer. “Internal” is a visitor that came to a page with a referrer from the same site. If you’d like to see it in a dashboard, pivoting on a page will show you where they came from, even if it’s from your site. In the API they’re called “internal” and “direct”.

Building a non-Flash web app would enable users of many different mobile platforms to easily access the site!
@sambeckett don’t flame about Java here. That’s not relevant to ChartBeat. Show us how Woopra “got carried” away. I doubt it had much to do with their choice to implement in Java.
